Cyber Security

Back when I was doing my bachelors, I rarely attended a class. I wasn't really impressed or excited about what we were studding or the way we were being taught. However, in the fourth year came a very interesting class: cryptography. In this class, we got to learn about, well, you guessed it, cryptographic algorithm. We wrote our own simple implementation of some of these algorithm in C++. It was really fun. That was the point where I know what I wanted to do. Fast forward to now, I'm working as a Cyber Security Engineer. I get to build systems that monitor companies networks from hackers. Fun and useful!

I will write interesting stuff about cyber security here. Whether it is something I encounter at work or my personal life.

During my study for my master in computer security at the University of Twente in the Netherlands, I wanted to write my thesis about an unusual subject. I found that subject in the idea of contextual authentication; which is about authenticating users using context. If you are interested in reading more about this topic you can check my post which summarize my thesis.

Contextual Authentication
Contextual authentication aims to provide authentication using context: authenticating entities implicitly instead of explicitly asking them to authenticate.
